the core private sessions and group apparatus classes
The reformer, invented by Joseph Pilates, is the most well known piece of equipment found in Pilates studios around the world and perhaps the most well-known piece of Pilates equipment. This bed-like frame contains a flat platform (known as the carriage) that rolls back and forth on the frame. A person's body weight and resistance of springs on the reformer determine the ease of moving the carriage, which can be easily adjusted to meet each person's skill level. Regular practice on the reformer can do wonders for the body. This classic piece of Pilates equipment increases flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination. The reformer, as well as the tower, chair, barrel, ped-o-pull, power circle, and other Pilates apparatus can be used during private sessions and group apparatus classes at The Core. Working in these smaller settings allows the instructor to focus on the specific needs of the individuals. Group apparatus classes can be schedule through MindBody and are limited to 3 clients per class, however, private sessions must be booked through Diane (by phone or email).
the core pilates group classes
Pilates classes focus on developing core strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina. These classes take place in a group setting using your body weight as the primary source of resistance. Focus is placed on precise movements originating from the core of your body. Working from the deepest layers of muscles that stabilize and support your spine and pelvis, mat pilates results in a strong, flexible spine with ideal posture and alignment. Classes emphasize the foundational principals of Pilates while offering modifications and variations to suit each students individual needs.
the core barre group classes
Our Barre class at The Core is a low-impact workout that tones your entire body. The full body workout concentrates on the areas women struggle with most: hips, thighs, seat, abdominals, and arms. This high-energy class involves intervals of isometric exercises and stretches that are inspired by classical pilates and ballet barre work. High repetition followed by stretching helps to build lean muscles without the bulk.
the core tabata group classes
Our Tabata class features a unique approach to successfully losing weight and building muscle in minimal time. The class consists of various types of intervals, such as 20-10 microburst intervals. An interval consists of performing specifically chosen exercises at an ultra high intensity, followed by rest. The beauty behind these short microbursts is that 20 seconds at high intensity is doable and the 10 second rest allows for brief recovery before moving on to the next exercise interval. Tabata is an effective, full body workout sure to bring the results you are looking for.
the core piloxing group classes
The core Piloxing class is a fusion of boxing and standing Pilates principles. The combination of these disciplines as primary exercise components creates a sense of both physical and mental balance. In a single Piloxing class at our studio, you can expect to burn up to 1200 calories, improve cardiovascular ability, strengthen and lengthen muscles, and improve balance and posture.
